Description
The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving processes and analytical methods that ensure the integrity, reliability, and safe operation of plant assets in a continuous manufacturing environment. This role focuses on identifying and eliminating equipment reliability risks, leading reliability reviews and root cause investigations, and driving long-term mechanical integrity strategies. The position serves as a technical leader across maintenance, reliability, and operations, ensuring the right people, systems, tools, and procedures are in place to sustain asset performance, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective operations, and to respond effectively to emergent equipment issues as needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
• Seven or more years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, metallurgy, instrumented systems, and relief devices
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical integrity systems, plant reliability programs, and work execution processes
• Ability to work effectively across all levels of plant personnel, including operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and asset performance
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar CMMS systems preferred
